Greetings, readers! Past few months have been busy and full of progress, which we cannot wait to share with you. Without further ado, we will start with the most important change!
I. Blood Elves and High Elves have been merged into a single race
Through meticulous deliberation, coupled with lore and faction balance considerations, we have decided to merge the races of Blood Elves and High Elves into a singular Alliance race, the Quel'Dorei. This transformation has been driven by multiple factors, including the fate of Kael's remnants imprisoned in Dalaran in Warcraft III, the intricate relationship between this race and the Horde's troll races, and our ambition to craft a bespoke Quel'thalas grounded in the depictions from Classic and Warcraft III.
In their stead, the Darkfallen have ascended to a main race (Horde-alligned elf NPCs will be reimagined using undead variations) and the ranks of the Horde have been bolstered by the addition of Rexxar's allies... the Mok'Nathal!
Blood Elf players... do not despair, for your green eyed friends will still be
available as skin options for the High Elves!
II. New friends in the Alliance, the Leper Gnomes!
Members of the Gnomeregan Holdout have been forced to find a way to the surface world, and since Thermaplugg's betrayal, Ozzie Togglevolt and Razzle Sprysprocket have never stopped working on a cure in Kharanos for their sick counterparts. Have they actually found one?
III. World map facelift and Gilneas
IV. Extras
Overall, progress has been up and running in a very good pace, and we hope to keep up the momentum. Our Necromancer is nearing 100% progress (including class specific quests), Gillijim Isle is nearing completion and we expect 50%+ of our Gilneas' quests to be available in the coming prepatch.
What about this prepatch thing?
We will keep it short and clear: we expect to bring you a play test at the end of March, and if the worst comes to pass, early April.
Thank you very much for taking your time to keep up with our progress. Please consider that we work hard, every day, to bring up an ultra polished experience for the final release, and quality takes time.
Yours sincerely,
The Azeroth at War team.
